You Give Love a Bad Name
We have an incoming gig next month and our client requires a unique, new and fresh name for our group. Help we need a new name, and I came up with several names already. The group consists of a piano and few string players, so I am looking for a name that is related to or at least decent enough for people to like and appreciate. So join me to my journey of choosing a name for my String group.
First I came up with concert one as we were passing by rims and tires shop. Reminds me of a sports rim that car enthusiasts uses at that time which is the concept one, a brand of a sport rims. Still great ever with more designs and I just loved them.
The other idea came up was the string connection, since the majority of the group are string players. We are connected to one goal, and that is to play good music.
How about with a touch of Filipino and sounds like Spanish, “Concertistas”. If all players are excellent musician and good looking, then We can use this name. It’s like a combination of Concert musician + good looking movie personalities or a concert artist.
How about… Stringgero!. With an Italian accent, sounds like Italian right. It can also sound with Filipino accent, if the players are drunk and with ugly beer belly.
I’m always saving the best for last, my favorite. A string o’ Sol, Literally the name itself explains everything. First the group includes string musicians, We like to play pieces from A string and G, plus our band leader’s name is Sol. One of our repertoire is Bach’s Air on a G String, and who knows one of the member is also wearing a G string. And last but not the least, I prefer Astring-o-Sol than other brands.

Looking for a group name is fun, also reminds me of my 1st electronic band which is “Technogastric”. A combination of Techno music + acid jazz, but little do people know the name technogastric derived from the pop word techno (A music genre) + tecnogas (A kitchen appliance) + gastric (short term for gastritis).
By the way if you guys have any suggestion for a group or band name, feel free to leave your suggestions in the comment box. Thanks everyone!
